A purpose-built facility for Carters Building Supplies in Taupō was delivered as part of a wider commercial development, designed to support the tenant’s operational requirements. The development includes a 1,900m² building footprint comprising trade storage, office space, retail display areas, workshops, and extensive external storage and racking facilities.
From a civil infrastructure perspective, works involved the delivery of site preparation, earthworks, drainage, underground services, pavement construction, and hardstand areas to support the facility’s long-term operational needs. Close collaboration between project stakeholders ensured the civil works programme aligned with construction requirements and key project milestones.
The project presented several challenges, including working through Taupō’s winter conditions and coordinating activities within an active subdivision environment. Through careful planning, strong stakeholder communication, and proactive management of programme and site logistics, the team successfully delivered the civil infrastructure package, providing the foundation for a high-quality commercial development that will serve the region for years to come.
